LINCOLN LOGS

Lincoln Logs were invented in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright, second son of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, when John was in Japan working with his father. He began marketing the toy in 1918 and received a patent in 1920.

The logs were made of redwood with roof pieces of varying colors. The original set came with instructions on how to build Uncle Tom's Cabin as well as Abraham Lincoln's Cabin. Lincoln Logs reached their peak of popularity with the Davy Crockett craze of the 1950s.
